Women with larger shoe sizes, such as size 39 (US size 8.5) and above, see their life expectancy fall to an average of 73 to 75 years.
Men exhibited a similar pattern. Those with a shoe size 42 (US size 9) had the highest life expectancy, averaging between 75 and 82 years. Men with smaller shoe sizes, like size 38 (US size 6), had shorter predicted lifespans of 66 to 69 years.

While the data suggests a relationship between shoe size and longevity, researchers caution against drawing direct causal links. “This does not mean that shoe size directly affects lifespan,” said a study spokesperson. “It’s possible that shoe size correlates with other health or genetic factors that influence longevity.”
