Future Patient Congress brings together leading voices shaping the future of preventative and personalised healthcare

The inaugural Future Patient Congress took place in London on February 5, bringing together a growing community of like-minded healthcare professionals committed to reimagining how care is delivered.

Held at the Grand Connaught Rooms, the one-day, CPD-accredited event marked the first live gathering from the Future Patient platform, following the recent launch of its digital magazine.

Described by many delegates as “inspiring”, “innovative” and “much needed”, the event created a space to explore longevity science and whole-person health through the lenses of functional and lifestyle medicine. It provided an opportunity for health and wellness professionals connect with peers from across disciplines who share similar values.

The programme featured international and UK experts and explored functional medicine, gut health, hormones, diagnostics, nervous system regulation, mitochondrial health, nutrition and food as medicine.

A consistent theme throughout the day was the growing shift away from purely pharmacological models of care towards a more holistic, patient-centred approach – focused on root causes rather than symptoms alone.

Attendees reported leaving with inspired, practical insights they could immediately take back into clinical practice, along with a broader understanding of how different approaches to patient care can work together rather than in isolation.

Chair of the Congress, Dr Mayoni Gooneratne, commented, “One of my key personal takeaways was collaboration. This event is clearly needed. It was brilliant to create a space for honest and open dialogue about health – what’s happening right now and how we can reimagine it. That is exactly what Future Patient is here to do: to open these conversations, bring the community together and connect people who may practise differently but are deeply aligned in their thinking. There was a real sense of excitement about the future – people were already asking, ‘what are we doing next year?’ – and it was incredible to see that momentum building in real time.”

The Congress also reinforced Future Patient’s broader mission: to support healthcare professionals with credible education, insight and community as the boundaries between conventional medicine, functional approaches and lifestyle-based interventions continue to evolve.

Rizvan Batha, Head of Innovations for Specialist Pharmacy, is “pleased to support Future Patient Congress as headline sponsors. The event reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering patient‑centred, evidence‑based care through close collaboration with clinicians. We believe Future Patient plays a crucial role in advancing a healthcare model that prioritises early intervention, root‑cause understanding and more personalised treatment pathways for every individual.”

Future Patient was created by mBody Media, the team behind Menopause in Practice and Pause Live. Following the success of the debut Congress, Future Patient will continue to expand its content and events programme throughout 2026, with future magazine issues exploring metabolic health, mitochondria, genetics and healthy ageing.

Charlotte Body, Founder of Future Patient, said, “Following the success of our inaugural Future Patient Congress, it’s clearer than ever that healthcare is ready for a new kind of conversation. What made it extraordinary was the spirit of the community that came together: sharing knowledge openly and challenging the status quo. Future Patient Congress was built to spark this movement, and seeing it come to life has been nothing short of inspiring.”

Vicky Eldridge, Editor of Future Patient and Conference Director, said: “The response to the first issue of the Future Patient magazine and our inaugural congress has been positive. There is a clear appetite among healthcare professionals for deeper conversations about prevention, longevity and personalised care – and for guidance on how to apply this in real-world settings. I am really looking forward to what the future holds in this space.”
